# Embracing Simplicity: A Journey of Reflection and Growth

## The Importance of Taking Time to Re-group

AN EXERPT FROM MY UPCOMING BOOK "LIVING THIS LIFE TO DIE A GOOD DEATH"

Sometimes, we need to pause and reflect. I often find that taking a step back allows me to see things more clearly. In my own journey, I have recognized patterns in the simple shapes I create. These shapes were once part of a grand idea that I thought was fully realized.

At one point, I believed that "simple" was an easy goal to achieve. I envisioned a perfect life, complete with a charming black-picket fence. I would sit on my expansive "Mr. Porch," basking in the sun while sipping lemonade. However, as I delved deeper into my thoughts, I realized that this grand idea was merely a collection of simple shapes—a puzzle I was trying to solve.

This hell speak and turmoil I had been taking myself through was blindsided by my alter ego and the fear reflected with innocent intent. I had become hyper sensitive to the fullness of my emotions. This hyper sensitivity began causing me to reconcile with heightened resemblances of past trauma through these surfaced emotions. An excavation had indeed taken place place but I was not aware the wreckage had fully surfaced. I can't pinpoint it's emergence but I'm still processing where I threaded the eye of the needle with tapped dead center precision. It must have been a pin sized hole producing a slow leak, because it was a gradual transition to where I am currently in my awareness of the new trimester I am in. Basically, I am in a new learning cycle of growth.

This cycle is of course wiser and although I'm seasoned in external intuitiveness, I am giving myself grace when it comes to my own internal road blocks. I find it much easier to properly ascertain the psyche of others than it is to finalize judgment of myself, even when the truth is blaring. Being in the midst of living my own powerful growth spurt, the sentiment of loss lingers. There is a comfort in familiarity and the suffrage of loss sits at the core of familiarity. The core has a hard time releasing the seedling to grow its own branch. I see the core as me. I have all that has been deposited into my subconscious. All that I have ever needed or you have ever needed has already been provided. The power is indeed in our hands to dig ourselves out of the Miry Clay, to experience every new beginning we are blessed to have.

I don't know about you but anytime I am lifted from the Miry Clay, it's as if I am awakening from this dream of a sobering experience. I felt a wave of disappointment wash over me. It was as if I had discovered that chess, a game I revered, was just a more complex version of checkers. I was left with the metaphorical seedless fruit on barren land, surrounded by the white-picket fences built by "Focus Hope."

The Complexity of Life's Questions

As I navigated through these reflections, questions began to surface in my mind:

  • Which came first, checkers or chess?

  • Was it the spark or the fire?

  • The chicken or the egg?

These questions highlight the complexity of our existence. Sometimes, we must take the time to re-group, trusting our own process. This act of reflection can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Finding Clarity Through Simplicity

In my experience, embracing simplicity can be transformative. When I strip away the unnecessary layers of complexity, I often find clarity. This clarity allows me to appreciate the beauty in the ordinary.

For instance, I recall a trip I took to a quaint village. The simplicity of the surroundings—the rustic homes, the friendly locals, and the fresh produce—was refreshing. I felt a sense of connection to the culture and the people. This experience reminded me that sometimes, the most profound moments come from the simplest of experiences.

The Power of Reflection

Reflecting on our experiences is crucial for personal growth. It helps us to understand our motivations and desires. By taking the time to think about what we truly want, we can align our actions with our values.

I often encourage others to engage in this practice. Journaling, meditating, or simply sitting in silence can help clarify thoughts. It’s essential to carve out moments for ourselves amidst the chaos of life.

Embracing Change

Life is constantly evolving, and so are we. Embracing change can be daunting, but it often leads to growth. I have learned to welcome change as an opportunity rather than a setback. Each shift in my life has brought new lessons and insights.

For example, when I decided to pursue a new career path, I felt a mix of excitement and fear. However, that leap of faith opened doors I never imagined. It taught me the value of resilience and adaptability.

Conclusion: Trusting the Journey

In conclusion, taking the time to re-group is essential for personal development. It allows us to reflect, find clarity, and embrace change. I encourage you to trust your journey. Remember, the path to self-discovery is not always straightforward, but it is always worth it.

As I continue to explore the world and its cultures, I am reminded that life is a beautiful puzzle. Each piece, whether simple or complex, contributes to the bigger picture. So, let’s embrace simplicity and allow ourselves the space to grow and evolve.
